Making an appointment

To make an appointment you need to contact a counsellor/therapist directly using their individual telephone number or email address.

Please leave a message on their voicemail if the counsellor/therapist is unavailable to take your call and your call will be returned at the earliest opportunity. Alternatively, you can send an email to counsellor/therapist’s individual email address or via the organisation email on the contact us section of the website.

Your enquiry will be dealt with confidentially. The service will be explained in more detail and a few basic details will be taken from you before an appointment is made.

The first session will take the form of an assessment to ensure that you and the counsellor/therapist feel able to work together. Usually each therapy session is 50 minutes in duration and takes place on a weekly basis. Sometimes an assessment session may take a little longer.

The counselling rooms at Room to... are all on ground floor level. They provide a warm, confidential and safe space to talk.

Daytime and evening appointments are available Monday to Saturday.


Session rates are set by the individual counsellors and therapists. Some may be able to adjust their fees according to your income, e.g. if you are unwaged, on low income or experiencing financial difficulties, and should be happy to discuss this in an initial assessment.


  • Missed appointments with no notice and cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice will be charged at the usual session rate.
  • Cancellations with more than 24 hours’ notice will not be charged.
